After a bumpy week, it was a pleasure to welcome all our pupils back at school. Yesterday, we ran a series of award assemblies in the secondary phase and it was incredible to see so many pupils receiving badges for their courage, leadership, kindness or progress. We have also had a couple of high-profile visitors over the last week, with Santa making an appearance in the primary school and the Grinch helping our secondary pupils exchange their Grinch dollars against a present of their choice in his grotto. We were also fortunate to be able to take our pupils out on some trips. Our GCSE Y11 cohort visited Salford Quays last week for their GCSE field trip. Yesterday, a large number of Year 6, 7 and 8 pupils attended the Cinderella pantomime at The Contact Theatre and really enjoyed the show. Many 21st December 2023 children from various year groups within Primary also had a brilliant time watching Peter Pan at Stockport Plaza and We Are Going On A Bear Hunt at the Lowry. Children from Nursery to Year 6 have enjoyed a festive, last few days, this included a fabulous festive lunch including Christmas crackers and festive music. It was great to see so many parents also enjoy the Early Years Nativity and Year 1 and 2 Christmas Concerts. Thank you parents for all your kind donations and support raising funds for books to fill our newly revamped Library! We raised over £100, thank you. Today, we had our first “Culture Day” and it was fantastic to see so many staff and pupils taking part in the event to showcase their culture. We truly are blessed to lead such a diverse community and to have this opportunity for our pupils to discover other cultures and build strong foundations for mutual respect and understanding.We are back in school on Thursday 4th January 2024, normal time.
