Dear parent/ Carer, What a fantastic strong start to the term we have had. We have continued to embed our high standards and expectations. Our key Dean Trust strategy of ‘Ready to Learn/Ready to Leave’ is being implemented successfully across the school and it is encouraging to see our pupils responding so well to this consistent approach. We would also like to thank you for your continued support in ensuring our pupils meet our new uniform standards and mobile phone expectations. We have been receiving positive comments from visitors to our school and members of the community on how smart our pupils look. Thank you to all parents who have attended the recent parents’ sessions for Reception, Year 1 reading, Year 6 expectations, Years 10 & 11 and Higher Achievers information evenings. We are looking forward to seeing you at many more workshops/sessions which will be held throughout the year. The extended school day from Reception to Year 6 is already benefiting our children. Nursery children are settling into school, they are quickly getting used to the routines and are thriving! Key Stage 2 children are already participating in Manchester sports events and representing the school wonderfully and we look forward to many more events across the year. The new leisure centre is extremely popular with our Year 4 children who attend their weekly swimming lesson there. For pupils in Years 7 to 11, we have extended Tutor Time by ten minutes this academic year. This is giving us the opportunity to check on pupils’ welfare at the start of the day and to then spend time on our Personal Development Curriculum and on our whole school Reading strategy.
