Dear Parent/Carer   Welcome to our first Newsletter of the academic year 2024-2025. We hope you had an enjoyable summer with friends and family. We celebrated GCSE results Day on 22nd August with our previous Year 11 cohort. It was so rewarding to see how pleased the majority of pupils were with their results and to find out about their future career plans. We have enjoyed a superb start to the term ahead. We welcomed a range of new staff during Monday’s INSET Day, including our new Assistant Headteacher Mr Bridden. Mr Bridden will be working  alongside the Senior Team to drive school development across the academic year and beyond. On Tuesday our pupils returned. They looked immaculate in their uniforms and were polite and respectful during their first assemblies of the year.  We would like to officially welcome our new Nursery, Reception and Year 7 cohorts into AMCS. Year 7 have made an excellent start and we look forward to working partnership with their families for the next 5 years. We are pleased to share that all our primary pupils have settled in brilliantly and have been fully engaged with their learning. Please keep an eye out for any letters in your child's bag and messages via MCAS, which will contain important information about the upcoming weeks. We re-launched the Dean Trust Behaviour Hub programme this week. A key strategy is ‘Ready to Learn/Ready to Leave/ready to Share’ and it has been exciting to see our staff and pupils embracing this across the school . We are looking forward to the week ahead and to seeing the families of our Year 11 pupils on Thursday evening. This “Welcome to Year 11” evening will give you information about how to support your children in their final year with us. Lastly, the Council will be doing work at the front of our school until October half-term; we apologise for the inconvenience.  To support with health and safety and avoid big crowds at the front of the secondary school, should you want to wait for your child in the Secondary phase, can we ask that you arrange to meet them on the path between the primary school and the secondary school please?    There is a school exit right opposite the Council’s office that secondary pupils can take to meet you.
